Time To Get More Facebook Followers!! Try these 8 tips.

I talked about how you can get more engagement and followers on Instagram. If you haven't read it, click here to read that post after finishing it. So, let's see how you can get more followers on Facebook...

Facebook can be a little tricky, but I promise it's not as bad as you may think it is. And you don't have to do the Facebook ads either. Engagement drives your posts on Facebook, like Instagram, but it's done a little differently. Your engagement on Facebook includes your engagement on your page, other people's pages & groups. FACEBOOK GROUPS ARE THE KEY!! Yes, I said FACEBOOK GROUPS!! So, if you're not in any groups, then it's time to join some, and I'll help you identify which groups you should join. Groups are the best tools to gain organic followers and build your Facebook audience. Try these 8 TIPS!

  1. Make sure you have a business & personal page! You have to make sure you have a business page & not a personal page for your business!! A business page comes with perks you cannot do on a personal page.

  2. Think outside the box about the groups you join to attract clients. For example, just because you sell wigs doesn’t mean you need to be in all hair groups. Try joining groups for cancer survivors or people who are dealing with alopecia. Those can be part of your target group. This is another way to break down who your target group is.

  3. Evaluate the groups you’re in. Or search groups that are relevant to your business or where your target audience will be and use these tips to evaluate them before you join them. First, create a chart to monitor & track your groups. Second, check how many posts a day the group has & compare this to the number of people in the group. In one column on the chart, label the group by high, medium, or low traffic. And watch the low groups for a few weeks & if your posts don’t get any engagement, then get out of that group or do not join that group. If that group has 25,000 members with 5 posts a week, then that group does not have a lot of engagement which means if you post in that group, then it's less likely the members will see it. Groups with higher-level engagement posts will appear on the members' pages.

  4. Check the group rules. See if the group allows promos; if so, when & how many, & if not, identify what type of posts are allowed in the group. Create a column on your chart for this information. Just because you can’t post a promo or if they require paid promo doesn’t mean you can’t share a motivational post or an interaction post. Free doesn’t mean you’re losing money. It’s a way to show your expertise and build trust!!! These posts will still boost your engagement rate ( a plus) & you can invite the people who like the post to follow you.

  5. Check to see if anyone can post in the groups or if moderators can only post in the group. Also, check to see if the only person allowed to post in the group is the admin and if the admin’s posts are the only posts receiving engagement. If yes, DELETE THOSE GROUPS OR DO NOT JOIN THOSE GROUPS!!! The moderators only use the group for their benefit and will not allow your post to post in the group. The only time you should join a group like this is to gain beneficial information, but this is not the group to join to grow your page.

  6. Evaluate the engagement of your posts on your page and in groups. If you've made any posts in the group, check “manage my content” in each group to see how your posts do. If you're joining the group, do a temp run in the group by making a post a few times during the week to monitor your engagement. If your post doesn't engage, change your content or delete the group. If the admin doesn't allow any of your posts to post & the reason is irrelevant, then get out of the group.

  7. Archive any content you can recreate & reuse!!! You can recreate some of your older posts as your audience grows or re-share them. This is a great way to be consistent with posting, and it will also allow you to engage more with your new followers. They did start following you for a reason. You can also create reels with some old posts, especially since reels are so POPULAR & are being shared more than anything on Instagram.

  8. Evaluate your content to see if it’s time to change maybe the colors, graphics, or themes. One way to know if your content is what your audience like. Look at other Instagram pages and see what type of content people prefer. Do you notice more people are attracted to videos, maybe quote posts with white backgrounds, or do you need to change your brand colors? I like to tell people to use those guru posts to guide and add their uniqueness.

  9. BONUS TIP: If your posts' engagement starts to slow down, go back and like or heart your old posts or comment on the post. This will cause your post to reappear at the top of the group's timeline and on the timeline of the group members.

  10. Bonus: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN!! Planning keeps you on track with your posting, when, and how it’s connected to the rest of your business. Social media posts draw your audience to your service, business, influencer, and affiliate marketing pages. If you’re unclear about your business/marketing goals, you will not see the results you want from social media. With 2023 right around the corner, this is the best time to start working on those plans. Use this FREE “Plan for 2023” Guide for some guidance.

I hope these tips help!! And let me know if the Facebook tips or Instagram tips work!! You may not see improvement immediately, but you will see your engagement and followers increase over time. The key is cleaning things up, consistently making posts, and engaging with others.
